Amazing facts about Juda Mahamandal snake: Pankaj Oudhia’s Interactions with Snake Charmers-16

During Sirpur Mela 2012 on the eve of Mahashivratri I interacted with Shri Krishna, the Traditional Snake Expert of Chhattisgarh. He shared interesting information about Juda Mahamandal and Chingraj snakes. Natives were identifying the Judamahamandal snake as Ajgar or Python but Shri Krishna was saying it as different species. Interestingly he informed that youth of his community must collect 21 snakes of different types before proposing any girl of the community for marriage. These days as forests are decreasing and farmers are using lethal chemicals, according to Shri Krishna it is becoming mission impossible to collect snakes in large numbers.
